[how to bounce back after a weekend of being a human hoover]

The notorious weekend cheat meal...

We are all guilty of using this phrase and allowing ourselves some sort of indulgence to keep our little minds sane. How many times does this cheat 'meal' turn into a weekend of grabbing anything calorific or carbolicious in sight?? For me, often. Well I’m here to tell you, THAT’S PERFECTLY OKAY. There shall be no judging here. If you're looking back at the weekend, swimming in guilt, thinking, ‘damn I was a hot mess that ate everything in sight’, don't. Don't let that guilt eat you up [you swallow it like you did all those doughnuts].

I see myself as some sort of expert on the topic, as being a human hoover on the weekend is one of my favourite past-times. After years of experience, I also now have the perfect routine on how to bounce back into your healthy lifestyle after one of these binges. We shall name it “The Cheat Sheet for Cheaters"

THE CHEAT SHEET FOR CHEATERS

-top tips to bounce back

  1.  CAPTURE THE NAUGHTINESS

If one of these weekends described above sneaks up on me, I always make sure I take my Limitless before any sort of ‘naughty’ meal. This absorbs some of the fats, calories and sugars and gives me a helping hand in curbing my ferocious appetite. Thus, I eat less, and the damage is controlled. This is a great tool in preventing the effects of a weekend over-indulging. As we like to say here @ LL HQ… “Limit the damage with Limitless.”

  1. DRINK LOTS OF WATER

Wake up, grab that H20, and chug it down. This will help remove any bad toxins you consumed over the weekend. When you consume simple carbs, they are converted into glycogen and stored in your muscles as energy. This has water retention consequences as for every gram of glycogen stored, you gain approximately 2.7g of water weight. This is your bodies mechanism of providing a balance between sodium and water levels. In conjunction with keeping hydrated, a lower carb intake and exercise will help flush out this increased water weight and take with it any negative toxins. I also add the magic tonic that is Live Clean into a glass of water after lunch just to give me that extra helping hand at detoxing my body from the inside-out. It contains juniper which supports the excretory function of the kidneys, and is 100% plant-based.

  1. EXERCISE

I imagine you’ll wake up feeling tired, fatigued and bloated. The best remedy for this, as horrible as it might be to hear, is to exercise. Our favourite little friends, endorphins, will have you feeling on top of the world after and help you to be proactive throughout the day. You will also have a healthy glow [otherwise known as sweat] which is excreting the toxins out of your largest organ- the skin. To combat my sluggish, unmotivated mood I take two Live Lean to give me that energy boost I so desperately need.

  1. EAT YO GREENS

Green vegetables, such as spinach, kale and green beans are scientifically proven to help burn fat and are a great source of fiber. Due to their low calorific value and nitrites [which have been associated with browning fat cells] which convert your fat storing cells into fat burning ones- they are my go-to natural source of vitamins and minerals to help combat my weekend food affairs. I try to incorporate greens into every meal, even breakfast!

  1. DO NOT DWELL

Most importantly, do not feel guilty about all those lovely treats you engulfed over the weekend. Balance is key. You NEED to form a positive relationship with food, which means sometimes the ‘cheats’ are necessary. Remember that Monday is the start of a brand-new week and you can mould it anyway you want to. I always encourage an 80/20 approach to dieting with that 80% being health orientated.  That way you don’t let every weekend become a cheat one, and that a cheat meal doesn’t escalate into a cheat week or month.

You’re welcome ;)

Much love

James
